Science & Nature

Western Massachusetts

Indoors and out, you'll find opportunities to learn, explore, see, touch and feel.

Walk along a natural bridge. Visit a wildlife sanctuary or botanical garden. Hang out in a butterfly conservatory. Go on a nature walk and take in the beautiful vistas, gorges and waterfalls. Examine dinosaur tracks. Or head over to a science museum. Any choice you make will be a good one as a diverse range of unique sites and attractions can be found throughout the area, all year long.

Fall Foliage

Why go to a movie or show, when the most dazzling performance can be found right outside? In mid-to-late September, take a drive — or get out of the car and go for a walk — along any of the area's country lanes and through the Mohawk Trail and enjoy some of the most impressive foliage in all of New England.

Museums & Zoos

Observe the ring-tailed lemurs at the Zoo in Forest Park. Visit the Exploration Center at Springfield Science Museum. Check out what's in the touch-tank aquarium at the Berkshire Museum. The best part of visiting the museums and zoos in this area is that there's always a chance to see and learn about something new.
