After a morning in Boston, head out to the Pioneer Valley of
Western Massachusetts. Upon arriving in Springfield, visit the
Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall
of Fame. The Hall features countless exhibits, memorabilia and
interactive areas. Become a sportscaster in the media wing, shoot
hoops on the full-size regulation basketball court or play
one-on-one in virtual basketball.

Then take a quick ride over to the
Springfield Museums, which
are clustered around a quadrangle that contains the
Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture
Garden. In addition, you will find the country’s only
permanent gallery of Currier & Ives prints as well as French
Impressionist paintings. The Science Museum enchants visitors of
all ages and imaginations, and the Museum of Springfield History
contains rare artifacts that highlight the city’s
manufacturing history.
If it’s April through October,
Six Flags New England is a
must-see stop on the tour. The quintessential American theme park,
Six Flags boasts 10 coasters plus Splash Island, Hurricane Harbor,
Looney Tunes Movie Town, the Hall of Justice and countless other
exciting attractions. It’s a world of fun in nearby
Agawam!
Top off your trip with a visit to any of downtown
Springfield’s great eateries before heading back to
Boston for the night.
