SHOOT IT. VIEW IT. Session Three: Art Films
Dates: Sun, Feb 24, 2013
Times: 1:00pm - 5:00pm
Description:
This new series of workshops focuses on smart device technology. In one afternoon all participants will leave the workshop having made a movie. All you have to bring is your cell phone or tablet. The workshops are not for filmmakers per se, but for anyone living in the fast-paced world of social media. The sessions are designed to help anyone: from teens on Facebook to older folks with stories to tell -- artists, poets, writers or anyone who has something they want to communicate whether social, business, promotional or charitable. Each session is designed as a stand-alone, so you may sign up for one, two , three or all four. The apps are very easy to use and the concept of why they were invented for use by the average person and how they can be used creatively by the class will kick off each session. Thanks to a generous grant from the MA Cultural Council, we are able to offer each workshop for the incredibly low price of $10 per session. Space is limited to 12 participants, so the classes will fill on a first come, first served basis.
Session Three: Art Films
Discuss films as art or as a way to present other forms of art like painting, sculpture, poetry etc. and view some examples. Explore the use of visual material to support or create art films. Participants will develop ideas and create an artistic film with images or poetry.
