Six day bike tour through Massachusetts' maritime regions, the Essex National Heritage Area and Cape Ann. Discover stunning shoreline, white-sand beaches, colonial farms, historic estates, artist's enclaves, the oldest working seaport in the country, witch hysteria and stately lighthouses as you pedal through Rockport, Gloucester, Newburyport, Ipswich, Essex, Manchester-by-the-Sea and Salem. Superb cycling combines with great natural beauty and a rich cultural heritage to create a uniquely rewarding tour. The trip includes an eco-kayak adventure, sunset sail, visits to historic sites and estates and guided walks through National Wildlife Refuges of salt-marsh, maritime forests and sand dunes filled with songbirds, water-fowl, shorebirds, beavers, seals and more. Lodging, most meals, bike rental, guides, van support, activities, admissions and more are included.
