<description>I was shocked when I visited Peddocks Island today (07/13/2012). All the character and atmosphere that made this island so unique has been destroyed. It&#039;s ready to be turned into a tourist attraction like Disney Land with popcorn and sightseeings only that anything that was worth seeing has been destroyed. If this was done to preserve American History someone missed the mark dramatically. The former members of the 54th Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry would probably not be proud of what has been done there. If you are thinking of going there to experience something truly unique with an atmosphere that is hard to find anywhere else, don&#039;t bother. Go to Disney Land instead.
